I'm worried this dress is too pretty for me, but I took some photos anyway :P

Sorry for some of the weird poses I don't have a full length mirror so have to mildly contort my body to get the whole dress in, lol.

It's what I'm wearing out Friday night.

"too pretty for me" give yourself a smack upside the head for me, you look gorgeous. What kind of heels are you going with?

So I've narrowed it down to

This one, which comes to about mid-calf length on me and is the only one of the three I'd wear with heels, I think it looks best on me but I'm worried it's a bit overly dressy though

This one with black knee high boots, I've gained a bit of weight since I bought it but I just checked and it still fits and is a really great fabric and cut for disguising extra lumpy bits, super short though, upper thigh

or This one, with the boots shown. It's the best length of all three but I like it on me least and again I've gained a bit since that (dodgy) photo and I think the fabric in that one shows it better than the other two. I do love those boots though.

ETA also I want to buy ALL the things

Not really asking for opinion, just sharing something here.

Since I live in a small-ish town in a small-ish country, I can't really buy any GoT apparel(that, and money). Last summer though, my whole class went to Greece and my friend, who got me into GoT, found two shops somewhere around Plaka(which is the name of the square near the Acropolis in Athens, with one very long street on the side just for shops and another just for restaurants) where they sold GoT stuff and she bought a T-shirt for herself and another for her now ex-boyfriend. Sadly, since it was our last day in Athens, and because she was tired, I couldn't find the freaking shops!!! Instead of two 300 movie T-shirts I bought I'd have bought 2 GoT T-shirts. I regret that to this day and will probably regret until I somehow get my hands on a dozen such T-shirts.

If you really want a Got tshirt, you could handpaint one, you'd only need a plain t-shirt or tank top and fabric paint. It won't be the same as an official one, but it can also look good and wearable.

Theda, that dress is wonderful! Own it! :)

I like the middle one, but they are all cute and I think any would be appropriate for the event as you described it. Remember, you're never overdressed, everyone else is underdressed! ;)

Ugh I want some of those Game of Thrones Black Milk items so bad. I have never been so tempted to buy $85 leggings before. I don't own any official GoT merchandise, only all of the BWB shirts that exist (I might be missing one.) So obviously I need to amend this problem. :uhoh:

Cute, Theda!! As usual. You're gonna look all gothy in that sucker!!!!! Adorable.

I agree wholeheartedly! Theda, the dress is made for you. All you're going to need is a bat to beat off all the attention you'll get. As for a coat, something short, cape-like and definitely black would do it. Twirl it off and reveal the va-va-voom!

@Brooke: I love your hair! For some reason, I picture you in something flowy and feminine.

To end the individual picture spam I was doing of them, here is the full release they are doing for GoT. I'll be spending way too much! Kat at least that's got free shipping ;)

There's free shipping? Even to the U.S.? Or are you gloating about some nefarious Australian-only thing?

I kind of want to just buy all the geeky shit at once. Like I can't decide between leggings with a map of Westeros or Middle Earth on them, so why not both? Do I want house sigils or Daily Prophet leggings? Why not both? It's too bad I'm not going to Worldcon this year because shit, I'm turning 30 and need a gift for myself, but where am I going to wear it all? :P

Thanks :)

The green one is kind of swishy and flows nice around the bottom, I don't really do a whole lot of flowy stuff because I always feel like it makes me look even shorter and more like a little kid playing dress-ups (that's also how I feel in that last dress I posted).

I was considering buying this one because the store is currently having a sale that would make it $100 off but then I looked at the model height and she's got a foot on me, I don't think that would work as well.

Kat I have exactly the same problem with the black milk stuff, choosing between everything is just way too hard!

Kat - standard international shipping is free. It's not available to all countries but I can't imagine the US wouldn't be one of the ones that it is available to.

As for where you'll wear them? I had no idea, but I'm manufacturing opportunities :p and it's fun! Wore the black cherry blossom dress, the plain matte black leggings and my Canadian black leather jacket to a meet up on Sunday and pax was trying to tell me I looked gorgeous afterwards ;) it's weird how the tights make my ankle boots work with a dress that they don't even come close to working with without tights.

Multiquote is not being my friend, so

Robyn, I think that skirt is beautiful, you should wear it lots, its just a case of getting used to it!

Theda, I love that dress. It looks great on you, believe in yourself.

Brooke, I like all three, I'd choose whichever will be most comfortable (ie swirly dresses dont go with windy weather!) I dont think you would look overdressed or like a child playing dressup in any of them.

Karaddin, you did look fabulous, no doubt about it!

I do need your opinion guys and gals on this one. My preferred clothing combination is t-shirt, jacket and jeans(not really imaginative, I know) and since warmer weather approaches, I want to buy a new jacket or maybe a long-sleeved T-shirt(though this one is a long shot, since I don't like them at all) or something in-between these two. I've got several possible options if I wish to order them online:

http://www.e-kupac.com/odjevni-predmeti/muska-odjeca/mm09-muski-duks-sa-patentom-nedostupan.html

http://www.e-kupac.com/odjevni-predmeti/muska-odjeca/new-fashion-korean-men-s-slim-fit-sexy-hooded-cardigan-coat-jacket-top-designed.html

http://www.e-kupac.com/md10-pamucni-duks-sa-patentom.html

Although neither of these are strictly 'jackets', the first and last one can be worn as such.

I'm leaning towards the last one, with the main colour being white and the letters being black. Just a short description of me if it would make it easier for you to judge - caucasian male, 18, 1.84 m(6'0.5 feet), slim upper body(after I lost a lot of weight, making my thighs a bit fatter-looking than they actually should be), no tan, light brown hair(with reflections of blond when 'exposed to the sun'), blue-green eyes.

I like all three! Green is my favourite colour so the first one looks lovely, second one is really awesome and I think you'd look great it in and you look great in the third picture. Your hair is lovely!

I was considering buying this one because the store is currently having a sale that would make it $100 off but then I looked at the model height and she's got a foot on me, I don't think that would work as well.

Ooooh, that's lovely; and definitely not a dress you'd have to be very tall to wear, I don't think.

Theda, that dress is wonderful! Own it! :)

:D Thank you.

I actually own a cape, surprise, surprise ;)

I do have a few nice black blazers that might look very smart with it. I will take a picture of a full outfit later maybe. Because I'm not great with matching shoes and jackets to dresses, lol.

Story, those are all pretty sweet looking sweaters/jackets. If I had to make the choice I think I would start with deciding what front I liked best - I like having a zipper, and most often a full zipper so it's easy to get in and out of. Then the question is, what will I wear it with. Likely blue jeans, so I might choose one with blue in it (I really do like the style with the partial zip on the side), but if it was mainly for warmer weather I also might pick one with white in it. Finally, I'd look at the material, but I assume they are all pretty similar, right?

The colours are pretty neutral so you should be ok in any of them, unless you know, for example, you look bad in red.

Ok fashion experts help me out.

There is nothing I hate more than an event with an uncertain dress code, I have tickets to this event on Friday night http://www.mardigras.org.au/events/women-say-something-dancing-on-the-ceiling/ we have seats at the tables with three course meal so obviously I want something nice but how nice?

While I liked all of the dresses, including that Raelene one you linked, I would probably go with the green. It sounds like you're most comfortable in it, it's a 'fine food & wine' event so you won't be overdressed, and it's green for Mardi Gras!
