Fragile Bird
A small town in Poland that was considering a playground mascot decided Winnie-the-Pooh was inappropriate because he doesn't wear pants, something that's inappropriate in a child's playground. And his sexuality is dubious. ("he's a hermaphrodite!") (ps the real Winnie was female) Upon serious consideration, I realized virtually no cartoon animal character is fully clothed. Not Donald Duck. Not Puss in Boots, who just wears a hat and boots, belt and cape. The Road Runner and Wiley Coyote are just naked. Goofy is totally odd, he's fully dressed. Maybe it's because he's hiding genitalia? :o Should this shocking state of affairs be corrected?
Castel
People should learn the difference between something being inappropriate and something being made inappropriate as a pre-emptive act.
PlainJeyne
The real problem here is that cartoon pants are not sold in sizes that fit cartoon animals. Cartoon clothing lines need to be more size-inclusive and not assume that all characters are human-shaped. Goofy probably sews his own cartoon clothing. Maybe he should open his own specialty store catering specifically to the Pantless cartoon animal population.
l2 0 5 5
Ugh... The PC world we now live in can be suffocating. These cartoon characters don't have genitals dangling from their mid-section, or a visible crevice, so why the beef? People who complain about this have too much time on their hands, and need to re-evaluate issues that need to be adjusted.
Isalie
Obviously Ross the Fondler would say that, I say, we don't go too far enough! Public beheading of a few of the worst offenders would scare the rest straight and teach them to wear their iron masks.

MinDonner
Funny, when I hear "small town in Poland" my first thought is not "PC GONE MAD!", it's more like "smalltown religious conservatives who need to get out more". Maybe the whole Victorian era of ankle-fetishizing was just PC Gone Mad too?

griefbacon
Hmm, I don't know, making that kind of absurd connection says a lot more about the people who want to ban a cartoon bear from a playground than the cartoon bear itself. :P

sologdin
frags, nude cartoons are one thing, but that picture of the real winnie should be tagged as NSFW.
Filippa Eilhart
I didn't realise the Church banned Winnie the Pooh along with Hello Kitty and Monster High. :( there's a park next to where my grandmother lives with three naked bears! (but they're from the 60s when the Church had no say in the matter)
