Wasn’t Badenoch the one who launched her campaign for Tory leader last year in a venue that had unisex toilets and got her staff to go round and sellotape pieces of paper over the signs?

Perhaps you're referring to this?

Quote

Handwritten signs saying “Men” and “Ladies” were taped to the doors of gender-neutral toilets at Kemi Badenoch’s Tory leadership campaign launch.

BBC politics reporter Matt Cole claimed that there were “no gender-neutral toilets allowed at launch”, hosted at an office venue in Westminster, as Kemi Badenoch wanted to “underline her point” regarding the Tory-fuelled culture wars.

Classical gaslighting.

No one has to sign up to anything they don't want to or support.

And signing up to whatever or not has fuck all to do w/ empathy, compassion or basic decency.

And nothing Kemi has said has anything to do with a lack of empathy or basic decency. That is just a way to dismiss someone who disagrees with you.

There's this...

and this

Rishi Sunak has "full confidence" in his home secretary, Suella Braverman, despite her controversial article about pro-Palestinian marches.

This morning, Number 10 said it would "update further" after looking into the "details" surrounding the home secretary's article in The Times, but insisted Mr Sunak still had "full confidence" in her.

However, in an afternoon briefing to journalists, the prime minister's official spokeswoman had nothing further to add, bar reiterating support for his cabinet colleague and her team.

For starters

also this

Also didn't she (try to) pick a fight with Ben and Jerry's for reasons?

TBH, if that's the worst she can do she has a long way to go to catch up to Braverman. Even being overtly anti-LGBTQ+ just puts you in the culture war milieu rather than standing out as notably or particularly extreme.

Two characteristics that from what I've seen of them they seem to share is not being especially intelligent. But previous Tory PMs seem to indicate above average intellect isn't really a requisite for being Tory leader.

It is interesting, that those who support the continued white-washing of history call it "political" race theory rather than critical race theory. That's not accidental and it's a deliberate mis-characterisation of the subject.

Well at least he would have a good reason to sack her now. There might have been a point where she was his barking dog and he could use her to say all the stupidest things and he could take a step back, but it's mostly just splashing back on him and making him look a lot worse. So she has to go, she's just totally incompetent and pretty thick. She is so bad it's like she's a trojan horse for the left.

I doubt Sunak is going to fire Braverman before the Rwanda verdict this week.

If he fires her now, the Tory right are going to go apeshit about 'caving in to the woke mob'. And he's not going to do a reshuffle over the same weekend events everyone is making a fuss about.

Plus, he doesn't have the guts to fire her now in case the government win on the Rwanda verdict. The right wing backlash would double.

If they do win, she's unsackable. But if they lose, yeah, then he might fire her.

Or not. He may genuinely be too weak.

Can you explain what’s going on here?

People outraged about immigration are attacking the RNIB for rescuing immigrants crossing the Channel in small boats rather than letting them drown.
Except that the RNIB is the Royal National Institute for thr Blind, a charity that helps blind people.

The rightwingers in fact want to be attacking the RNLI, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, a charitable organisation who rescue people at sea.

It would be infinitely better if they attacked neither.
