I've met a dozen or so of you, skyped with a dozen more, and who knows how many I've chatted with in one chat room or another. From meet-ups in San Francisco, to drinking a whole bottle of tequila for Mya's amusement (and apparently snoring through my headphones for part of that night,) to Inigima utterly crushing me repeatedly playing Chess online, to MinDonner driving 100 miles out of her way to hang out for a few hours, to Tormund taking some time out of a family visit to have a few beers, the list goes on... it's always been a pleasure.I even got to chat with EHK. And he was totally pleasant, the big faker.Still looking forward to taking Myshkin to being escorted by not being stabbed by Myshkin at a Giants/Dodgers game. Still looking forward to SJohn's white lightning Hatfield-McCoy drinking challenge. And he doesn't know it yet, but I swear to god I'm taking Jaxom to a hockey game one day and for a month my av will be a pic of him enjoying himself at the rink, just to piss him off.Kinda maudlin, but sincerely said, you fuckers have been a blessing to me over the last six years. There are a lot more I would like to meet, generally people who were in chat during times when I've been there a lot, like Sis and Nichole. And Mandy. How have I not met Mandy? I've actively tried to meet up wtih LooN or Coco but it hasn't happened. Hopefully it'll work out one of these days. It was great to see X-ray and Mr X again a couple of weeks ago - it'd been quite awhile. Haven't seen Bill or Mack or some of the other DC people in awhile...we might have to do something soon. People really need to stop getting married as facebook is absolutely littered with pictures of multiple instances of me on the dance floor and.... I.... just can't have that. I feel like I've spent an inordinate amount of time un-tagging myself.Anyway, I'm usually good for a happy hour or something even if I can't do a weekend event.Oh - also... nice that the board seems to be working lately. That was the night you switched your mic off without realising, then phoned me in a panic because we were all going "I hope Bonesy isn't dead" and we couldn't hear you going "I'M STILL HERE!" so you thought you were a ghost and we were all standing round your dead body. :lol: Ah, tequila.Going to Reno last year probably doubled (at least) the number of boarders I'd met (not even including the ones I visited en route), and that's pretty good going considering how many we have in London, whether living in or passing through. You all just seem like cool people and I want to be a cool person. My husband and I have talked about a trip to New York and one of the first things I thought of was "I can meet Jade!"I'm tentatively planning a trip to Chicago over labor day weekend to see my sister. I didn't realize that was the same weekend as worldcon. I would love to meet people, but won't be attending the con. I would also have to convince my sister that the internet people won't kill me. Our little AZ chapter kinda fizzled (haven't seen Ztemhead or Watcher or Blauerdragon in forever). Met Lord o' Bones in SLO, he's as cool as you think. Met the Dubliners who were all completely rad (I'm going to come back with a full nights sleep and more food in me than M&M's and drink you all under the table). I'd really love to meet all the pinko communists lovely people in Mordor on the Potomac Washington DC. Also Coco, S John, LoON, Trisky, DalThor and Mash. If WorldCon is in San Antonio next year I might try to hit that up.Anyone passing through AZ hit me up, although I moved out of Phoenix at last. Infact he has even addmitted he enjoyed the experiance, it has done nothing to limit the terror I see on his face when I mention the possibility of hubby meeting more of you.He does however fondly remember X-ray "the fragrent freaky geek lady*" and her friend, he also offers his sympathies to Mr X "who is dragged arround and made to attend all this geeky stuff" I'm affraid the rest of you at that meet made no lasting impression on my Hushands memory. this means any future Pebbles meets will be sans Hubby. so probably mostly conventions. or uk london friday night drinks.* he means this in the nicest possible way, but says there is only room in his life for one scary freaky geak. I think we're lucky here that a number of people pass through the City to various conventions and whatnot. I do remember dragging my husband to a large meeting here when I was very new to the boards. a lot of people where there, many of which I didn't even recognize their board names. it took me a number of months *after* that meeting to figure out who was who! lolMy husband and I have talked about a trip to New York and one of the first things I thought of was "I can meet Jade!"I would love to meet you too, Nichole. if you get anywhere in the NY/NJ/PA area I'll try t get out to see you. we totally need to have a drink together! :cheers: I've also thought about going to places (like Utah, Korea, Arizona and others) just to meet boarders that I like.
