Viking Round Deux

I liked Athelstan as the outsider. Mainly so he could ask question about norse folklore.

Don't know about Floki, I think he killed the Bishop to spite Athelstan, or provoking him. Or to get Athelstan to stop pretending, an that deep down he's still a christian.

Also why did Horik kill the envoy?

I think that was pretty much because he could.

edit: Thinking back, wasn't most of the negotiation aimed a Ragnar and not a Horik. So maybe the killing was a little reminder to everyone that he was there and dangerous.

Also the guy was fairly obvious in checking out the vikings encampment, defences and over all military strength.

They weren't shy about offering the priest a threesome when he was first captured.

I thought they were testing him and if he had agreed, Ragnar would have killed him because it would mean he might try to hit on his wife when he wasn't around. I'm just kind of going off of what Siggy's husband did to the one guy after he promised to let him sleep with her and then he ended up whacking him, which happened in season 1 and was pretty bizarre.

Floki and his girlfriend has invited Torstein (the blond, beardy archer guy) to have a threesome with them, and he accepted without any repercussion.

Damn, I really, really hate Aslaug! Instead of being grateful to Rollo and Siggy for saving her, and her children's lives, all she can do is bitch and complain.

I thought Athelstan was fucked for sure, glad Ecbert saved him.

The Bjorn/Ragnar reunion was a nice scene, all in all another good episode.

Maybe, but I think that Athelstan providing someone with a decent death isn't necessarily just a Christian thing to do, it could be a Viking virtue as well. One that usually Floki seems to exhibit.

Though I do agree that he wants to provoke Athelstan, so you could be right.

Floki is just a dick now, not a crazy entertaining guy. Someone should probably stick him with the pointy end soonish

Go and stay go. Floki's sadness at the loss of all those guys at sea just...broke my heart. Reunion with Helga <3

Shes pretty awful this episode. Gods, shes so..entitled and bitchy. Its like, do you even patience? Siggy and Rollo were kicking ass. (nice Rollo avvy btw)

So liek, if there was any way to make Athelstan hate Christianity, welp there it is right there. Muthafuck. Dude's never gonna go back to that god now. Yay. Yeah really diggin' Ecbert now. Figured if we got another good look at him, he'd be pretty cool. Dat bishop is screwed.

Speaking of screwed, countdown to Jarl Borg's Blood Eagle begins now!

Bjorn and Ragnar's reunion was great. I had feels.

So much Wardruna in this episode, i loved it!

Great show. We all need to advertise this show because for some reason this season of the show is not getting as much publicity as season 1 did - even though this season is just as good. My guess is they didn't pay off websites like tv.com, etc.

At this moment it's the best show on TV.. I'd like it not to wither away for stupid reasons.

For some reason that line by the saxon guy escorting Ragnar that they have no idea who built all the statues and bath houses really annoyed me - the Wessex Saxons knew who the fucking Romans were.

Other than that a good episode

I wondered the same thing about the people of Wessex not knowing that the Romans had built the statues, but I chalked it up to either them not wanting to tell Ragnar that Wessex had once been conquered by a foreign land or legitimate ignorance.

BTW, omg, you are totally right! Always in the bath!

I know, and no matter how far removed they might have been from that time, they would still know that.

What I find ironic is that the Saxons can't win.

When the Vikings get there, supposedly they attack them because of their Chrisitanity, and a couple hundred years later, the Normans, (Duke "Rollos" people), peresecute them because they aren't Christian enough as many Saxons had been practising their own pagan religions on the sly for as long as they've been there.

Welcome back, Lagertha.

I hate you, bishop. I was really happy to see Ekbert telling them to take Athelstan down. I guess he will survive now, because he is a main character, but he will likely have consequences after that torture. Poor Athelstan. :crying:

Looks like they got the upper hand this episode doe. <.< >.>

but he will likely have consequences after that torture.

Yeah. I think Athelstan isnt going to hate God as much as hes going to hate the Christians now. Its pretty awful but i get the impression this whole business destroyed whatever faith A-Man had in his fellow Christians.
