  1. Past hour
  2. Typical Real Madrid. Under the cosh for the first 20 minutes but they get themselves in front.
  3. Has any superteam won a title with one of its stars hurt? I don't think they have. I guess you could point to the 2012 Heat which won with Bosh out for the first 4 games of the ECF. He was at less than 100% in the Finals, but he played every game. The '17-'18 Warriors superteam had some minor injury issues, but again not enough that anybody missed much time. The 2015 Cavs and 2019 Warriors were almost good enough to survive a major injury, but in the end both succumbed in six games. But I would not say that Superteams have eliminated injury risks, quite the opposite.
  4. Bayern well on top here. Real Madrid to go through then. ETA: Ok that was class. It probably shouldn’t be that easy though.
  5. That's only when things fuck up too obviously and irreparably. Till then expect them to not inform us of their nefarious schemes. Just look at the global defence spending increase over the years.
  6. To the first - you sell now. He'll be free in a year, then you'll have to replace him without getting anything back. If someone wants him badly enough, that's a good deal in most circumstances. The second part - quite possibly, but this year keeps telling us things can always get worse.
  7. You don’t sell Salah because he had a tiff on the sidelines with Klopp, of course that’s complete nonsense. You sell him because he’s soon to be 32 and you’re going to get diminishing returns from him. If the Saudis are willing to pay over the odds for him you probably take the money. If they aren’t, and there seems to be talk they’re reining in their spending, then you probably keep him ‘cause he’s still a good player. I doubt Everton will actually go out of business. I suspect your creditors are angling to try and take over without having to pay Moshiri for the privilege.
  8. Moral of the story: vets can be arseholes too!
  9. Yeah selling Salah is overreacting by parts of the media. Salah has not been in good form since his injury lay off. Klopp thus put him on the bench instead of the starting XI. Salah was unhappy about not starting that game. Liverpool will deal with it internally. If Salah contiues to act up, I can see him getting sanctioned sold, but chances are that this is effectively a non-story.
  10. Today
  11. Seems like a heads you win, tails I lose situation for Everton right now. No doubt Moshiri has been bad news all round. Good thing if we don't go from bad to 777, but the interim there could potentially kill us off.
  12. The Biden administration is trying very, very hard to get some kind of agreement, but the US doesn't quite have the resources and/or the resolve to push the two sides to a peace. The administration has some leverage with Israel, but what it absolutely cannot do is convince Israel to have a permanent ceasefire without all of the hostages being released -- this would be a non-starter in Israel and extremely unpopular in the US. The US has much less leverage with Hamas and the latter will not release the hostages without massive concessions which, again, would not be politically palatable in either the US or Israel so... what exactly is Biden supposed to do beyond what he is already doing?
  13. Altho, whether that's more humane than a bullet (when done properly) is up for discussion imo. I'll share a story from a co-ed who worked as Vet's assistant, before she attended University. Don't worry, no dogs involved. For the cat lovers, I can assure you no dogs were harmed. Anyway... Family comes in with their cat. They walk in, the vet gives the feline a shot with the needle, and leads them out. Vet assistant stayed back. The cat starts twitching, which kinda freaked the vet assistant, who went out of the treatment room slightly panicked. Doctor, quick, the cat's twitching. The Doctor, who was talking with the family turns on her. And scolds her for being incosiderate, as he was still talking to the family who had to come in to have their cat put down. Yeah, turns out, the cat was to be euthanized, and the vet didn't share this information with his assistant, who thought the cat was having a reaction to anesthesia. Again, no dogs were harmed, but the cat was certainly dead however.
  14. Well, I do think that's all a bit silly. Wanting conflict to make money but not too much conflict! Nobody has that level of control over things. What you say is all a bit vague though and it depends on what people are thinking of. For sure, the West made plenty money from supplying weapons to Saudi Arabia, despite it using those weapons against the people in Yemen. Things like that can (and should) be criticised but once you start layering in levels of complexity, you do lose me.
  15. It ended Jeremy Thorpe’s political career. ”Rinka lives. Woof, woof! Vote Waugh, if you believe dogs enjoy the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
  16. Messaging seems apparent, I don't fret about when tough choices need to be made. The problem, is dog lovers know little *partisanship and the instance chosen to exemplify it makes her look like an uncaring donkey to both sides. *despite how the woke/anti-woke clown parade has infiltrated the dog training sphere
  17. Also I have no doubt the Lakers would make the second round at least or maybe the conference finals with a competent coach who didn’t piss away a bunch of games with his fascination with bad players. They just got the worst possible matchup for them and tbh were competitive in every game (more so than last year which is not a surprise since davis played better and James was healthy) it’s just Denver is much deeper.
  18. Yeah offensive lineman are huge these days to the point of where a 6’4-5”, 310 prospect is considered “undersized” for the position.
  19. He hasn't been in great form, but the Nuggets are relying on him a lot and Jokic isn't the type to force things unless he feels there is no alternative. Think this is where they miss Brown as another playmaking option. Also, he's the one carrying the bench when Jokic rests at the start of the second and fourth quarters. Anyway, it isn't getting any easier for him. The Wolves have a whole bunch of long defenders to throw at him. Maybe the Nuggets will hunt Conley. Both these lineups are huge except for Conley. Eh, you can also say that it's insurance for one of your stars getting injured. Think that's the Clippers logic anyway. Think it matters which star is hurt too. Sometimes it's just one star that matters.
  20. Ok, the dog’s name was Cricket, and he killed the neighbor’s chickens. She doesn’t seem to brag about it, she just presents herself as a person who can deal with reality. Then she apologized to the neighbors with the chickens, helped them clean up the mess and wrote out a check for the damages. That seems pretty straight forward. What I hear in my mind: “ hey guys, I can kill dogs and goats without getting emotional about it and you can bet I could kill North Koreans, Russians, and whoever else needs killing (like maybe people crossing the border illegally).” The latter might be me going overboard but, hey, she can do the tough jobs.
  21. Yes,sell Salah but keep dumb and dumber. Someone put up a compilation of all the misses from Diaz and Darwin, all passes from Mo what should have been assists! It quite funny though! Starts at 30:43
  22. Not defending meant! I wish this forum would fix the damn 431 bullsht so I could properlt edit posts again!
  23. Also Kristi Noem(sp) is a nasty lowlife regardless so no im defending her, just talking about some farm realities.
  24. Finally!! https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/joe-biden/biden-administration-plans-reclassify-marijuana-easing-restrictions-na-rcna149424
  25. To be clear putting down animals that are in pain is not rare in the rural midwest of the U.S. I dont think its anything thats relished. I've known people that would pay thousands for the vets to do whatever they can to help their pets but at the same time, some of those same people faced with believing the animal is in terminal pain and they believe they are ending the pets suffering. I myself wouldnt do it because I'm not expert enough to understand a pets pain or whether its something terminal, I have a never give up hope attitude over illnesses for humans and pets, I wouldnt do assisted suicide for those same reasons. However a high percent of people do believe in such actions and as I said, putting down a suffering pet is something people will do and they will do it themselves without a vet, usually burying or cremating the animal themselves as well. Thats the sad end for for some farm animals, these people arent driving in 30 miles to hire a vet with a needle, they feel the end of life responsibility is thiers I think.
  26. Rolled my eyes so hard at this they fell out their sockets! Srsly, banning vegan meals is just one more step to banning all meals in schools. The little buggars should pay, don't they want to grow up to be good capitalists? Remember when Michelle Obama wanted to improve school lunches and so many of the GOP lost their shit? ugh!
