I have high hopes. I recall Warren Ellis hinting at a conspiracy of characters ranging from Dracula to Dr. Franky to Sherlock in Planetary, and it made me think of how cool it would be to have these guys in one setting.

Alan Moore of course did something similar with League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Showtime Reveals a Second Production Video for Penny Dreadful

Following the new teaser earlier this week, Showtime has brought online a second production video for "Penny Dreadful" which you can watch below.

The video features series creator, writer and executive producer, three-time Oscar nominee John Logan as he walks viewers through the literary works that inspired the upcoming Showtime drama.

In "Penny Dreadful," some of literature's most famously terrifying characters – including Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray and iconic figures from the novel Dracula – have become embroiled in Victorian London. The series is a frightening psychosexual thriller created, written and executive produced by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan (Hugo, The Aviator, Gladiator) and executive produced by Logan's Desert Wolf Productions, along with Oscar winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall) and Pippa Harris (Revolutionary Road), both of Neal Street.

didn't realise this was a TV show. Shame it's on showtime as their current record is terrible unless you can live with the fact they can usually produce 2 excellent seasons before milking a concept into mediocrity. That said this concept should have legs.
