I think it’s also because Aaron Taylor Johnson is a big movie star who doesn’t appear in tv shows so if they had to cast somebody, might as well make it a nod.

It seems such a throw away act for something that would have huge impact for the audience.  It feels like trolling the audience for something that has no significant impact in universe.

I wonder if Wanda's actions will be the start of causing the public to fear people with superpowers. After all most people who lose loved ones may grieve and struggle to move on but they aren't able to enslave hundreds of people while not moving past their pain in any way. What the Avengers did over many years is why the accords were created. Along with Peter being framed for murder, I wouldn't be surprised if superheroes become the enemy like with the X Men.

Anyone think Marvel Studios could be playing rhe long game with Evan Peters as opposed to simply trolling fans?

Why would they troll fans this way?  Who thought that was a good idea and why?

WANDAVISION Director Says Finale Twist Was Inspired By IRON MAN 3's Mandarin Reveal

A ballsy move considering how much that Mandarin twist pissed people off.

Personally I'd have been more annoyed if they contrived to bring Fox Quicksilver into the MCU to pose as a guy he looked nothing like. Obviously the multiverse stuff is happening down the line, but none of the options for how Fox Quicksilver could have ended up impersonating Pietro in Westview made much sense. There was never any indication that Wanda or Agatha could travel through time or dimensions, and there had to be infinite alternate Pietros who were the correct age and looked like Wanda's brother.

I want to know when Jimmy Woo and Monica Rambeau are going to be arrested for beating a pair of federal agents to death.

When did this happen?

Episode 6

I have no idea why you're under the impression they were beaten to death.  Pretty standard "knock em out and hide them" action movie/show fare.

I don't really have time to re-watch it right now, I assume you're talking about when they escape SWORD custody? What makes you think anyone was killed?

I just assumed it was standard tv/movie logic where it's super easy to knock someone unconscious and there are never any negative effects from violent brain injury.

Now I'm wondering if there's a Snyder cut of Wandavision out there somewhere.

It was stupid.  It was really stupid.  It was a troll that added nothing to the story but deliberately played with the minds of fans.

Even the Mandarin from IM3 had an in story explaination.  This was a middle finger at the fans that added nothing to the story.

I'm just poking fun at some lazy writing.  It is one of the most perfunctory scenes in the show.  It gives you no reason to assume the escorts aren't dead.  Instead it just relies on the pop culture knowledge that knocking people out is easy and knockees never suffer disability relayed to the violence.

I'm not sure what you mean. You may find it unsatisfactory but there is an in story explanation for Fietro. Agatha wanted to use someone she thought Wanda might open up to to press her for information. Since Pietro's body was on another continent and full of holes she used the guy whose house she had taken over.

Nothing on the show ever suggested he was the fox character but the casting. They never pretended Ralph was Fox Quicksilver like they pretended Trevor was The Mandarin.

This reminds me that Cap has also killed loads of people, but at least they were all baddies. All those chest kicks that send people flying, vibranium frisbee thrown at their heads would have severely damaged normal human bodies.

They didn’t do either, they went down the middle. :P

I think you’re making a lot of assumptions about things we don’t know, because the show doesn’t tell us. But the assumptions to make her non-villainous are easier to make than the assumptions to make her villainous. Wanda doesn’t really think she’s a Villain, Vision doesn’t really think she’s a villain, Monica doesn’t think so, we don’t hear from them but their behaviour indicates Darcy and Jimmy don’t either. So that’s all the good guys.

If you’re arguing she actually is a villain, then yeah, I could buy that. But I don’t think the show wants her to be one at this point.

I think that the show was attempting to show that what she did was super, super bad and she wasn't going to be given a pass for it in-universe. From Feige and the showrunners comments that seems to be pretty accurate. I think that they could either try to redeem her, or they could try and make her lean into her power even more and make her a villain first. And if that's the case, I think that she is an actual villain right now AND that the show is setting her up to do even worse things.

I do think that Wanda does think of herself as somewhat bad at this point. I don't get that she's got no remorse. At the same time, I think she's also saying that she knows better and that she's willing to do more and go farther to get that happiness she so wants, and she's going to justify it.

We should refer to the rebooted Vision as ReVision, not White Vision.  The latter sounds like something you'd find on the Stormfront forum.

I've been calling him AlbinoVision, but ReVision's good

It was playing with the audience to no good purpose deliberately choosing the actor who played Quicksilver in the Xverse to play Feitro in WV.

If it doesn’t tie back to the Xverse it was a deliberate troll of the audience without any narrative purpose other than trolling the audience.

Anyone could have played Fietro for the purpose he had in the show.  They picked Evan Peters to fuck with the audience.  It was stupid.

Or alternatively: it was a joke. I guess it depends on if you wanted a Fox X-Men crossover or not.

I'm curious what was your reaction when you saw JK Simmons at the end of Far From Home? I don't recall anyone assuming he was playing JJ from the Rami movies. It was just a fun bit of casting.

It’s a terrible joke.  It’s not funny and it is deliberately playing with fan expectations when we are told... repreatedly... that the multiverse will play a big role for the future of the MCU.

Anyone could have played Fietro... anyone... for purposes of the story.

JK Simmons is playing the same character he played in the Rami Spiderman films.  That is the precise opposite of what WV did with Evan Peters.

I like Cataract but i guess its not catching on.

Scot, lighten up. I’m sure the writers didn’t mean to lead you on. They were just teasing you a little. :leer:
