Football: Windows of missed opportunities

Arsenal doing some serious business this summer regardless of whether people think it’s good business. Wage bill becoming under control has contributed and they clearly have the full backing of KSE. Most importantly, they are getting some major signings in early and before preseason with PL experience so integration should be fairly seamless. Pretty exciting time to be an Arsenal fan given youth of squad and upward trajectory.

this, i don't understand why teams leave it so long, is it just to avoid paying 150 grand a week in wages for a few extra weeks?

Think it’s timing on players too. Lots of teams won’t sell until they have a replacement or they can’t buy until they sell. Been an issue with Arsenal previously. Couldn’t afford who they wanted early so waited to sell some players or get a deal towards end of window. This summer they’ve just spent and are now looking to sell to recoup some of the investment.

Yeah, how much could Liverpool have got for Ox and Keita? And Milner is 36 (or 37?) so there was no point in giving him a longer contract so the club could earn some money on his transfer.

The only one who could bring in some money is Firmino, but given his form in last couple of seasons I'm not sure that would be much either.

Delighted he's finally signed da ting.

He'd have been mad to leave now. It really feels like we are on the cusp of something special. Fair to say that Arsenal have the most exciting young squad since the Class of '92...?

USMNT shouldn't be in this situation.

Matt Turner saves them again.

Robinson needs to learn not to lead with his hand when charging at players. He got away with one penalty not being called, didn't the second time. The US could have won it in normal time if not for his poor discipline.
