Almost finished Season 2 of Orange is the New Black. I love this show so much :D

Season 2 spoilers

I hate Vee so much. The way she is manipulating Suzanne, driving a wedge between Poussey and Taystee, the way she treats poor Rosa. And she has just thwacked Red over the head :(

I also feel really bad for Morello. I mean, I know she was stalking Christopher and was a bit unhinged, but the episode where she broke into his house was really sad.

The whole baby thing with Daynara is weird. I don't know how that is going to play out.

In terms of the whole Larry-Piper thing, I definitely take his side over hers.

Glad Pornstache was finally arrested. I imagine that in the next episode Piper will have showed Figuerola's files to someone and Fig will be the next to go. Good riddance. Oh, it was also fairly obvious that her husband was sleeping with his aide/secretary as soon as he was introduced.

I've also watched a couple of episodes of Season 2 of Rome, and Drop Dead Fred, when I was having a crappy day

I finally got around to watching We Need to Talk about Kevin after failing to get past the first 40 pages of the book. It's a slow, traumatic film to watch but it certainly makes the viewer question a lot of things, like why do people blame the parents of psychologically damaged children who kill people, and why do we expect every woman who gives birth to be a perfect mother?

Earlier in the week I watched Sarah Polley's Stories We Tell. It was a nice enough 'documentary', interesting and touching stories told in a frank, honest fashion. Quite moving at times actually. But nothing mind-blowing though.

Finally getting around to starting in on Black Sails. Been really looking forward to this one! :)

The first few episodes are okay to meh..but things pick up in the second half and get interesting. It's never great television but it had enough moments that have me waiting for the second season when I would normally give up on a show like this.

Ooh, I always wanted to watch this but they took it off Netflix when I finally got around to trying to watch it. :(

it's pretty bleak and depressing but definitely a good film. But now I've seen it twice I don't really think I ever need to see it again and this is coming from someone who is terrible for rewatching films over and over.

Finally got to see Godzilla. This was my favorite cartoon growing up, loved watching each of the non-Broderick movies - even the one where King Kong wins.

Loved the movie...might have been the nostalgia for me but I really did enjoy the whole thing. My only negative comment was halfway through the muto-battles I made the comment that just one time I want to watch a monster fight in the daylight. Other than being too dark...had a lot of fun watching it. And the way the big green guy took out the 2nd muto...damn.

Thinking of going to watch Lucy. Has anyone seen it? What did you think? I've heard whispers about how sensational the ending is.

If you do go let me know how it is. We were thinking of going to the cinema this weekend and that was one of the ideas we thought about a bit. I like the look of it, but if you go see it some feedback would be great.

Watched the finale of S2 Orange is the New Black yesterday, which I loved

Poor Rosa but I like Morello even more now for.letting her escape. And I'm glad that Vee got her commupance. Definitely deserved it. Can't wait for Season 3, although I'm not thrilled by the idea that Alex might be back in the prison

, then started American Horror Story: Murder House. I've seen Asylum before, and so far I enjoyed Asylum more than this one. Not sure what it is, just finding it much less enjoyable. I'll still watch the full season though. It seems pretty likely imo that

Tate is the leather man who had sex with Vivien, and that he is also the son of the next door neighbour. Just their appearance is enough to tell me that. I also think Moira appearing as the young and sexy maid is something to do with how the husband is thinking. He sees what he wants to see, not what is actually there. Probably significant in terms of the shenanigans in.the House

If memory serves, the first two episode were okayish, three and four were terrible, five very good and the rest of the season just good. The show really suffers from a lack of budget (that's why they spend much time on the island, instead of on ships) and some pretty crappy writing. Especially the female characters on this show are all over the place, as if the writers can't make their mind up about what role to give them.

What doesn't help with that is that - in general - I think the actresses they cast aren't very good. Hannah New (Eleanor) is great when she finally get something real to do. The rest not so much. I particularly thought the actresses playing Max and Anne Bonny were bad. The actors are stronger I think. Vane and Rackham are campy as hell, but fun. Luke Arnold grows on you (really didn't like him in the beginning). The stand-out is of course Toby Stephens. That man deserves to be in a much better series. He's a great actor and I wished that we could see more of him.

I watched Edge of Tomorrow yesterday. After a bunch of disappointing high-concept SF last year, it was good to see one that lived up to the promise of the premise. The very ending seemed a bit tacked on, but other than that it was excellent.

I loved EoT. So far easily my favourite blockbuster of the year. I can't for the life of me understand how such a gem bombs, while shit like Transformers takes in millions and millions of dollars.

I thought it was okay. It wasn't as bad as some people make it out to be, but it wasn't a really great or even good movy. It was just okay, which is quite frustrating, because you could definitely see potential for a much better movie in this film. If the lead hadn't been as boring and if there had been one extra (short) monsterfight in the second act this could have been a great film.
