Consigliere
Fellaini and Chadli the saviours of Belgium. Martinez is a genius.
Mme Erzulie
Oh dear. Naive by Japan to not take a short corner there. Good subs by Martinez

Maltaran
You have to feel sorry for Japan there to not at least get to extra time
Consigliere
Brazil will hardly be shaking in their boots after this defensive display from Belgium. Belgium the first side since West Germany in 1970 against England to come back from two goals down in a WC knockout game.
polishgenius
That was a superb counter-attack goal though.
A Horse Named Stranger
Terrific counter attack. Really a textbook move. De Bruyne with a great run, perfectly timed pass, Lukaku draws two defenders towwards and lets the ball pass. Really beautiful counter attack. Erik of Hazelfield
Ohh so sad to see that heroic team get punished for their enthusiasm. But yes, that corner kick was a bad call. I really feel for Japan, but Belgium’s superior players finally won the day. Just wow.
Consigliere
It was. Japan a bit naive to commit so many bodies forward though.
GallowKnight
What a game. Strong comeback by Belgium. I kinda figured they would choke that one away like they usually do. Guess there might still be time for that in the Quarter Finals though. I have to give to Japan though, they were the clear underdogs and I don't think anyone really expected much from them, but they definitely made a match out of it. Hats off for Japan. polishgenius
Can't say I feel too hard for Japan though considering the shit they pulled with us to put Senegal out.

lacuna
Man, good call by Lukaku to leave that pass for Chadli. Most attackers would have fumbled a shot with that ball.

Kind of funny that Lukaku's best moment of the game was not touching the ball, though.
KingintheNorth4
Jesus fuck Japan, that's absolutely soul crushing. Belgium's talent and depth won out in the end.

Germany beat France in 1982 in the Schumacher game having been 3-1 down. Can’t wait for Martinez to learn, not that De Bruyne should be getting the ball higher up the pitch, but that they need Fellaini in for the Brazil game. Daemon the Leaner
What a counter-attack. What a half. What a game. The most enjoyable game in the World Cup so far, IMHO. I should feel death sad for my fantasy country, but damn, I like this Belgium team. So much talent, attacking-mind… and naïvety whilst defending. All the ingrédients for a very attractive side to watch.
