These people were killed by woke because woke won't let 50 year old white men (literally the only people with any skills) work on it. So it's clearly not his fault Who needs skills? The woke younguns he hired had enthusiasm! Plus, they worked cheap, what was the worst that could happen? The story is so quintennial capitalistic American; hire the cheapest workers, buy the cheapest gear and supplies, call yourself a genius, a forward thinker and innovator. Come ride my exciting death sub. The CEO was so delusional he said he knew it was safe, had to be, so he went too. Oh, yeah, he fired an employee who pointed out it wasn't safe not long before this trip.

I mean, they got their directions for the target by email. Once the connection was gone, who knows how far off target they are. But as for the story hitting TV, oh yeah, you are so right. So many angles of this tragedy to cash in on. ugh
Cas Stark
Talk to me like I'm stupid: If they were going to view the titanic, which is in a specific place, why is it taking so long to find the sub? Is it because its so small? or too deep?

Is it because its so small? or too deep? The depth is definitely a part of it. But the other thing is ocean currents can lead to hard-to-predict drift. Especialyl since currents can move in different ways at different depths. I believe I Read that the search area is some 10,000 square miles because of these factors. I seeing more of this, “it’s so innovative we can’t really understand or test it properly.” Bullshit. Utter bullshit. Fuck you. “How does a carbon fibre hull perform after repeated dives to the wreck?” Hey that’s a great question. Ya think you should do some actual cyclic fatigue testing? Maybe based on the actual temperatures and pressures the thing is likely to encounter? Add a safety factor because why not. There are lives at stake after all. Darwin award indeed. I read also that sound can travel very far in water, so the banging noises detected could have been far away from the Titanic site.

The twist in all of this would be if the wreckage came from some other vessel no one knew about that was missing...you know, to spice up the season finale of the eventual television series about this...and then take things in a new direction. The zeitgeist of the first quarter century of the 2000s is absolutely impossible to follow at times.
