I' Emilia is a good actress. She played Dany's development very well up to this point. I do agree that she majorly sucked in season 2, but the material she was handed then was nothing more than shite.

Yeah She is a fine actress, The writing for her character in Season 2 was just awful.

I dunno, in a lot of ways it's a similar role to Dany - wussy lady who is forced to become badass in order to fulfill prophecy that only she believes in... :dunno:

But goddamnit Hollywood, write some new fucking material! Or go into a bookshop and pick up one of the millions of books that has not yet had a movie made of it, and try that instead of reheating the same old crap?? :tantrum:

Exactly. The amount of reboots, and remakes is getting ridiculous.

I get the studios not wanting to let go of the rights and the cash possibilities, but if they did do nothing and Cameron got the rights back, would he be looking to do a reboot?

doubtful. He is more interested in his own original ip now.

After the Avatar sequel trilogy the only project on his plate is Battle Angel, which is an adaptation of a manga. Then again, he's also said he might retire at that point, so who knows? I do agree the chances of him doing another Terminator film are fairly low unless he can see a big technical reason for doing it that would really excite him (like the CGI morphing stuff for T2 or 3D for Avatar).

but if they did do nothing and Cameron got the rights back

The way I'm reading it, Cameron gets the rights back in 2019 regardless of if they are making films in the interim. It's not like Superman, where if a new film isn't made every x number of years the rights revert to the family, or the D&D situation where they have to make a new movie (even a shitty DVD film) every five years or lose the rights.

I assume back in 1984 the deal was that the studio got the film rights for 35 years to do what they wanted with, then Cameron got them back again. That seems rather unusually generous, especially since Cameron wasn't anybody at the time.

I know this is being made for the $ (at the end of the day, what isn't?) but I think there's genuinely some good films to be had in this franchise. I mean, killer robots, wars, time travel....it's all good. Given that they've cast an older John Connor and a younger Sarah Connor AND are talking about Arnie being involved, it doesn't look like this will be a straight remake of the first film. So I'm hopeful this could be good.

Classic porn films are being remade so let's face it, if the people in the San Fernando Valley can't make an original fuck picture what hope is there for Hollywood?

I think it's actually harder to make original porn than it is to make movies in general.

Plus I'm frightened of creative porn, given the glimpses I've gotten of what's out there beyond the basic stuff.

At least if they are re-making/re-booting the same crap, it's so much easier to avoided. If they started fucking up original stories I'd be a little more likely to pay money to see it. At least with reboots I can pretty much ignore them.

It's a little like putting starring Billy Zane on the poster, at least then I feel no temptation to buy a ticket it to see it.
