Billy Zane took the piss out of himself excellently in Zoolander. When film actors are aware of their own sense of ridiculousness and are willing to send it up, that's always a good thing in my book. All of them were basically saying how this would be the death to a really great franchise. Whhhhaaa! The deep throated bat... errrm I mean the version staring Christian bale did that. A terrible movie. Anyway, the articles were really just bitching that Emilia was playing as Sarah. Well, I am now completely for this maybe its the Hipster deep inside me or the fact all these people have their panties in a bunch over it who is to say. All I really have to say about this is as long as 20th century Fox doesn't own the movie rights it might actually work out and be a good movie.. err trilogy. Veltigar Posted December 4, 2014 Share Posted December 4, 2014 The CGI looked awful, but it's a trailer. I'm intrigued by the changes they made to the story. It's still going to be total shit though, just not as awful as a straight remake of the original. What troubles me most is the acting probably. Old Schwarzenegger, Courtnie, that dude from DotPotA. They aren't exactly God's gift to the world when it comes to acting. The only thing I really want to see is Emilia Clarke to be honest. I'm curious how she'll handle the physicality of the role. I hope for her sake that this movie surprises us all and is actually good. I'm not exactly the biggest GoT-fan, but I do feel like the acting is very strong. I find it strange to see how little the young GoT-stars are getting picked up by the outside world. And if they get picked up, it's in films that look absolutely awful. Richard Madden in the new Cinderella, Kit Harrington in Pompei and Seventh Son (he can't act, but he's popular now) and Emilia Clarke in Terminator. They've been stopping Judgement Day in every movie, except Rise of the Machines I suppose. Kinda makes Skynet look like one of those Doomsday people that keeps getting it wrong. One of my favorite things about Linda Hamilton was how she held a gun in T2 and looked like she knew what the fuck to do with it. Clarke doesn't give me that same feeling of badass competency. Kalbear Posted December 4, 2014 Share Posted December 4, 2014 I'm super hyped for this. It's...well, it's got the notes of the first two down pat. It doesn't look like a shitty Salvation. It doesn't look like T3. The "Now Soldier" is a great callback, as is turning Reese into the rescued. The CGI looks essentially just like it did in the 90s, which is in my mind a feature; the point is to reference that, not make it much better. And the future part looks so much better. It looks positively James Camerony. It is significantly better than what we had with Salvation. I hope it doesn't suck. I'm pretty optimistic about this.
