polishgenius
We're so inefficient it's nuts. We had loads of the play between their first and second goal. After that we've fallen apart but we should have been back in the game by then. Quite frankly getting Guirassy in next month is a must. We just can't afford not to. Obviously there are other issues in the team still too, but the finishing problem is egregious.
Iskaral Pust
Another rocky performance by Liverpool. It did not look a promising prospect today: away form has been terrible, early kick-off, fatigue showing lately, injuries mounting, attackers collectively off-form, and we had an opponent ready with a defensive shape (nullified our 8 channels well) and a plan for tactical fouls and time wasting. I’m glad to take the points but it would be nice to improve our form soon. Elliott did well off the bench again. He’s having a low-key very good season as a sub, and doing well for England u21s too. He hasn’t looked as good as a starter though. Great to have Alisson back. The defense has all kinds of problems with absences, and we still don’t have a settled shape with TAA. Szoboszlai is hindered by having to cover the RB zone when TAA inverts (and he’s looking tired besides). And the output from TAA in the inverted role can vary from match-winning to ineffective, while his defensive contribution isn’t enough for a 6 or a 2. We had a better shape when Gomez came on. Mexal
I will never understand how a defender can handball it but a slight brush by a goal scorer after the defender handballs it into him is totally legit. Or how an attacker can handball it into the path of another player who scores and that’s totally fine. It’s such an arbitrary and stupid rule that makes zero sense. polishgenius
Aston Villa and Bournemouth are the best two teams in the league. Who knew.
A Horse Named Stranger
We're leading so not complaining about the score right now. But two things: 1. We are top of the league playing at the team lying at the bottom of the table, and we are leading 1-0 thanks to Jackson after a corner. But passing the ball around is all fun and games, but can we add a bit more depth to our passing, so that we can at least pretend to threaten to score a second. The way we are doing it right now, that's asking for trouble down the line. 2. The pitch at Osnabrück. Usually our pitch looks bad, but that's a really not a good pitch by any stretch. A Horse Named Stranger
Just saw that United will play at Liverpool next week. Under pressure United managers having to play Liverpool, going by recent history, that might not end well for EtH

Big difference between 0-1 at Villa Park, and losing 3-0 at home to Bournemouth. But, other than that, yeah, point taken.

Corvinus85
Unlike their win over City, Villa's win over Arsenal was very Sevilla-like. Typical Emery. But glad to see a team be so versatile.

A Horse Named Stranger
Why do people pay attention to Joey Barton? He was a jackass as a player, hasn't really changed that much as a manager, and he is not even good at that job. I mean it also kinda answers the question, what sorta people want what sorta punditry. A Horse Named Stranger
Klinsmann you have to seperate the club manager (utter disaster) from his stints managing national teams, there he's overall done a decent enough job. Frank de Boer is also not outright horrible. de Boer is not a managerial genius by any stretch, but he isn't a total dud either. Gary Neville yes, that was very bad indeed. Wasn't aware Adams tried his hand in managing. Last I heard was him being a Sporting Director somewhere in Azerbaijan (?). Don't have anything to say on Seedorf and Henry. Anyway, all of them feel like they got appointments beyond their abilities early on based on their achievements as players.
Corvinus85
Damn, tickets are expensive for nations tournaments. I was thinking of going to the USA-Uruguay game in the Copa America next summer. Over $3000 for a decent seat? GTFO
