  2. I saw a comment that noted he will be in the Big House during the election. Best place for that traitor to be.
  3. Wow, ^^^^^^ thats the first time ive been able to actually post or do anything on the board in over a few weeks. "431" behind me( fingers crossed)
  4. Bannon going to the Big House soon! Appeals court upholds Steve Bannon’s contempt-of-Congress conviction for defying Jan. 6 subpoena https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/10/politics/steve-bannon-appeal-denied
  5. I thought about making that joke as well. The Russians just hate that place.
  6. I would like future Joe Abercrombie audiobooks to feature Ineson. Make it happen Joe!
  7. Today
  8. Ahh yes, cunning move taking out the hotdog stand in the courtyard of the Pentagon. I'm sure it will be a major blow to morale.
  9. Maybe wraps up with the fall of Osaka and the ending of Hideyoshi’s line?
  10. HBO has released a two minute behind the scenes video featuring comments from showrunner Ryan Condal and an array of the show’s leading actors, including Matt Smith, Emma d’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Olivia Cooke, and more. Lots of glimpses of heraldry, which we always love to see… but yet again we seem to be getting some confusion between who’s using the two-legged dragon and who is using the four-legged dragon. At this stage, I suspect they’ll never really hammer out the details on that one! In other news from the world of HBO’s expanion of the Game of Thrones universe, Redanian Intelligence has reported, and which has since been verified and expanded on by The Hollywood Reporter‘s James Hibberd, that director Owen Harris was on board to direct episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Per Hibberd, Harris is directing three of the six episodes, which makes us wonder if Harry Bradbeer (also revealed by Redanian Intelligence) is directing the other three. For those who don’t know Harris’s name, he’s directed our favorite episode of Black Mirror, the widely-acclaimed (including winning a Hugo Award!) “San Junipero”. Also, an interesting note from Hibberd that the show has lost its subtitle of “The Hedge Knight”. This could be a promising sign, in a way, since it could be taken to mean that HBO may be inclined to see this as a continuing series rather than a one-off limited series. We wouldn’t be surprised if at least one of the episodes gets titled “The Hedge Knight”. Production on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is set to begin next month. House of the Dragon returns to screens on June 16th. View the full article
  11. Actually think that's a bridge too far for him, he's done a wonderful job, but I'd say someone like Arteta or Iraola deserves it more.
  12. This came out of nowhere, kind of like The Mandalorian suddenly becoming a film series now. Who knows, maybe Gollum will actually be decent, Warner Bros has been on a roll recently with their IP blockbusters (barring the DCEU though we'll see what James Gunn does) and I'm one of those guys who think The Lord of the Rings films have formed their own identity more as epic fantasy action films than thematically faithful adaptations of Tolkien's work so as long as WB doesn't somehow overbloat and meddle with it as they did with The Hobbit trilogy then it could at least be Wonka-tier (a movie we didn't need nor ask for but it was a fun time). https://youtu.be/f3AZYQh2e0k?si=SkWvTpa6zBOjLZ2v
  13. Does Russia have spare men to „calm“ the situation in Georgia? Do you think it is possible? How would the Georgian military react to such a thing, I mean they fought against Russia in 2008 and at least parts of them in 1991-1993…there is also a substantial group of Georgian volunteers in Ukraine, they would probably want to go back to Georgia in such a scenario. And I doubt that the Georgian population would welcome a 3-day special military operation…
  14. Huh, WB apparently thought better on the copyright strike, it's now available again.
  15. High drama right now. The first grand final dress rehearsal was to take place. Joost and the Netherlands delegation were there for the opening flag parade... but then when it was their turn to perform, they were skipped, and now word is there was some sort of incident that is being investigated, with claims going all the way up to Joost having been disqualified and the delegation being told to leave. That last seem like wild rumors to me, though. SVT claims the incident involved Joost and a photographer, Sweden's Aftonbladet (a tabloid) says more specifically it was a "physical incident" between Joost and a female member of the Swedish television production staff, but take that with a grain of salt. In less than 2 hours, the jury performances are happening. If Joost doesn't take the stage then, I don't know what's going to happen.
  16. They still can't decide between 2 and 4 legs on the Targaryen dragon! Even within the same faction!
  17. Looks like Russian forces made an armoured push from the border of Kharkiv Oblast towards the border settlement of Pyl'na. The offensive started well with multiple Russian vehicles apparently hitting their own mines, Russian mine-clearers being as efficient as the rest of the army. Once that was sorted, the advance was then interrupted on the Russian side of the border by concentrated Ukrainian artillery fire, drones and what might even be Ukrainian glide bombs (a new development in the conflict the Russians have been bitching about a lot). At least 3 BMPs were knocked out. Despite this, some Russians were able to move through Pyl'na, which has been no man's land since the Ukrainian counteroffensive, moving south-west towards Oliinykove and Morokhovets (a distance of about 2.5 kilometres). About halfway between Pyl'na and Ollinykove, they encountered a "serious" counter-attack. Exactly what happened is unclear but NASA FIRMS picked up a massive fire on the road there. A Ukrainian source is claiming that the leading Russian mechanised group was obliterated and the survivors were forced back to the border. An angry Russian milblogger (one of the government-sceptic ones) seems to have refuted that and said the Russian units were stopped on their side of the border and only a small number of recon units penetrated towards Oliinykove. The Russians are saying that they have mounted a reconnaissance-in-force over the border but not actually attacked in force with their main army yet. So a front to keep an eye on, closely. Meanwhile, Ukraine has set fire to the Pervyy Zavod refinery in Kaluga Oblast, just SW of Moscow. There has also been an ATACMS strike on Mariupol, aimed at Russian barracks. Some discontent in Russian media (unusually), as a TV show travelled to the town of Popasnaya, Luhansk, captured in May 2022. The town remains almost completely levelled with no rebuilding at all. The Czech Republic has handed over an F-16 simulator to Ukraine so Ukraine can ramp up training of its pilots in Ukraine itself. US intelligence claims that it has stopped Russia's use of Starlink. Amusingly, this was just after Russia crowdfunded a ton of second-hand Starlink terminals at around 500% markup. The situation in Georgia is deteriorating, with serious similarities to the Belarusian protests and fears that Ivanishvili may call for Russian troops to help calm the situation. 18. Que? Ignoring the fact they have to sail 3000 (?) miles from Mereen to KL, there are currently corsairs in the stepstones most likely led by Aurane Waters with huge war galleys and the Redwynes or IB have more than enough ships to absolutely destroy whatever ships she had carrying her army across. Braavos isn't like to help her either and might well oppose her. "How would the queen suggest they accomplish that, without sufficient ships?" asked Ser Loras. "Willas and Garlan can raise ten thousand men within a fortnight and twice that in a moon's turn, but they cannot walk on water, Your Grace." "Highgarden sits above the Mander," Cersei reminded him. "You and your vassals command a thousand leagues of coast. Are there no fisherfolk along your shores? Do you have no pleasure barges, no ferries, no river galleys, no skiffs?" “Such should be more than sufficient to carry a host across a little stretch of water, I would think.” “And when the longships of the ironborn descend upon our ragtag fleet as it is making its way across this ‘little stretch of water,’ what would Your Grace have us do then?” ... “In the west, Lady Johanna Lannister hoped to follow her victory at Kayce by striking another blow against the Red Kraken. Assembling a ragtag fleet of fishing boats and cogs beneath the walls of Feastfires, she loaded a hundred knights and three thousand men-at-arms aboard, and sent them out to sea under the cover of darkness to retake Fair Isle from the ironmen. The plan was to land them undetected on the south end of the island, but someone had betrayed them, and the longships were waiting. Lord Prester, Lord Tarbeck, and Ser Erwin Lannister commanded the ill-fated crossing. Dalton Greyjoy sent their heads to Casterly Rock afterward, calling it “payment for my uncle, though in truth he was a glutton and a drunkard, and the islands are well rid of him.”
  19. I, for one, am thrilled. Who wouldn't want to see Gollum captured by Aragorn, taken to Mirkwood, then escape with the help of the Orcs all floating in wine barrels as Legolas does woodland Parkour again. Who doesn't think Gollum's character deserves a deeper dive, with hours of footage of his two halves arguing with each other, because one powerful scene in the original trilogy was clearly not enough? And can anyone say no to watching Gollum's first date with Shelob?
  20. Late to this, haven't really participated in this thread, but when late for my sessions [4x a week] my trainer would punish me by starting off with row sprints-- 10x 300m sprints with 30 seconds rest [ie: diamond push ups] in between. He made me throw up twice... and I was never late again.
  21. Toronaga might not be Tokugawa Ieyasu but he basically is. So a fictionalised version of him eventually becoming Shogun I’d guess.
  22. Reminds me of when Dave Prowse was mortally offended at George Lucas when he found out they'd dubbed his lines as Darth Vader over with James Earl Jones. David Prowse being the proud owner of a very strong West Country accent.
  23. You know nuthin' Rhom Snow. Galactus will just sound like Starks to Americans. Purple Guy in the North!
