Legends of Tomorrow. Caution, the *spoilers* may unravel your space-time continuum

I liked this ep a lot more, and am holding out hope given they're still in the 'pilot' bit. I'm holding on to the 'don't think about the time travel' thing, but I'm actually kind of enjoying the way they're just fucking up everywhere.

I really like Dominic Purcell, he looks like he's having fun. And White Canary is working for me, just ditching the brooding thing.

Since I get the feeling there will be an inevitable romance thing (beyond the low budget porno flashbacks,) and there is only one available woman in the cast: my money is on a Snarkt/Ray/Canary triangle.

I enjoyed the 2nd episode more than I thought. The two all-team fight scenes were not bad.

Time travels stories are always iffy, but as long as they keep it to just vague references of the changes they make, followed by quick, but plausible fixes, I'm in.

But I don't really like the main villain. So he can't die. OK, lock him somewhere deep and throw away the keys. He doesn't have any other superpowers.

Soooo... am I understanding this right that everything at the bank and the ritual took place in Leipzig? In which case might I suggest that the writers of a time travel show should maybe read up on the history of the places they set their show in? Because private banks were not a thing in Leipzing in 1975.

It looks like we will indeed be getting a weekly encounter with Savage, which I maintain is a bad idea. The guy himself is neither imposing nor threatening enough that seeing him on a regular basis will be much fun, and we know he'll only die in the finale. His cult was a good way of showing that a lot of his power is indirect, and contrary to Savage himself his minions can actually be defeated, a stronger focus on that aspect of the story might be more rewarding.

I'm confused? Didn't they have Savage beaten this week? He's immortal because he has Wolverine healing powers and they knocked him out cold. Why didn't they just strip him naked, chain him up and wait for Hawkgirl to recover. They just let the guy go, for no apparent reason.

Dear god, I didn't even think of that becaues it's a given he'll only be defeated in the finale. This show seems to have already broken my brain.

Ok, haven't gotten to the end of the episode this morning 'cause work, but as long as they make silly references I'll keep watching.

"I've seen men of steel die and dark knights fall." I liked that. But the Titanic reference takes the cake.

Yeah, they somehow managed to highlight how stupid their own writing was by having him gurgle about how he's going to regenerate. And they just left him there knowing that. They even know someone with a facility that can hold an immortal and an abiding commitment to unlawful imprisonment. I don't understand it. The rest of the episode was quite good. The Canary fight scenes, Atom's fantastic voyage and Snart's story with his Dad all worked for me.

I was thinking the same thing,  After Savage spent the whole time right up until Hunter slit his throat saying that he will come back and hunt down his wife and son, Hunter still just cuts his throat and walks away..  The show should have at least shown them try to take Savage with them and maybe have a fresh wave of cultist attack and steal Savage's body back.

Damn, this show.  They turn out a really fun episode where we get to see the chemistry between different subgroups of the Legends, only to turn on the full stupid there at the end.  First there was some editing stupid with Savage's followers finding Sara and Rip in the room with Carter's body, cuffing them and walking them out of the room only to...bring them back to the room with Carter's body.  There was then Carter's body defying the laws of biology and his blood being perfectly free flowing out of arteries despite his hard having been stopped for hours.  I can try to hand wave that stupid by pretending that Hawkpeople's dead blood doesn't coagulate and their heart keeps pumping long after official death, but that's still stupid.

Then there is Savage who tells them that he'll just regenerate and they have the characters just shrug their shoulders and leave him.  I'm almost worried that it didn't dawn on anyone in the writer's room how dumb it would look for them to leave his body followed by that dialogue.

So much this. It was just bizarre.

Seems a real wasted opportunity this show, it's not terrible but it's not what it could be. I pictured time travelling fun with superhero fights, but they seem to sideline that in favour of treading over and over the same internal conflicts within the group. Didn't Sara already deal with the bloodlust, didn't Constantine rid her of it? Hasn't Kendra already expressed doubt over her abilities? Have we not seen Firestorm argue with himself more than once before? Breaking into the pentagon was fun, why not elaborate on that, make it more of a period Oceans Eleven with superheroes? Seems like they used up an arc for everyone here in Arrow and Flash, but then couldn't think of any more for the show itself. Shame.

I'm a bit confused over Carter as well, does he not get reborn at some point? Is there a new Carter being born now? Would he be born in January 2016 or 1975? Shouldn't there be another Kendra and Carter in whichever time period they visit? Is there a 70's pair, maybe they could help? Or is there a huge gap between each lifetime?

I guess we'll just have close shaves with Vandal every episode, where he gradually pulls a Bond villain and reveals exactly how to kill him (oh, it's Kendra needs to stab you? Cool, thanks. See you next time.)

There's still plenty of time to turn the series around, but yeah, this episode was kind of a dud. It didn't actually have them fighting Savage himself, but it also had none of the fun and insane stuff of the earlier ones. They sidelined Sara and made Ray even more of a doofus than he was before. Really only Cold came out of that Russian plot with his dignity intact, and he's a guy who can't resist picking on Ray, who's basically carrying a "kick me" sign around.

I like this idea. Next time she'll stab him while reciting that poem or whatever it is, and he'll be correcting her pronunciation with his dying breath.

It's possible that both Carter and Kendra need to die for the rebirth to happen.

I kinda wish they could just lose the dead-weight and make it "The Captain Cold, White Canary & Heatwave Show",  because they are clearly the best part so far.
