It's a type of squash that, when you cook it and then scoop out the flesh, it actually comes out of the gourd like angel-hair pasta.

This this site for details and cooking instructions.

Obviously, there are some quirks to using spaghetti squash in lieu of actual pasta, but it makes a pretty decent substitute and vehicle for the sauce.

We decided to do elementary school lunch today. Fresh bread for PBJs, and three flavors of potato chip.

Plain salt:

Sea salt and rosemary:

BBQ:

I was just gonna do salt, the other flavors were my girlfriend's idea. The rosemary ones are spectacular. We weren't sure what to season with for BBQ; these have chili powder, cayenne, paprika, and kosher salt. Thinking about it, they should probably have had cumin in, but they were good.

We had (mild) chilli con carne, served in a baked tortilla bowl (we shaped the tortilla around potatos, which we baked and later scooped out to make corned beef pies with) with a simple salad and sour cream. Very nice, and very easy to do.

Barbecue chips, eh? There's this mesquite seasoning that Grill Mates makes and sells in a packet, or you can even get a LARGE container of it (if you really like it) at Costco. I think that would probably make a good BBQ chip.

I've tried it on various edibles and it's not bad. I like the Grill Mates seasoning packet better than the Costco's mix, strangely enough.
