Football: End of the seasons, start of the dramas.

Spurs had to win and they got the job done comfortably. Nicely sets up the last two games. Spurs fans will be hoping that Newcastle players haven't gone on their holidays - Arsenal in a spot of bother with Gabriel going off injured, Holding suspended and White who may or may not be fully fit by Monday. With Partey and Tierney out as well, Newcastle could exploit an Arsenal side that is depleted defensively.

I imagine this game was a damp squib for neutrals, so much hype but was pretty much decided by a soft penalty and early sending off. Not that I'm complaining obviously.

I have to say Arsenal didn't look too fussed by this. They're probably well confident of getting it done in the last two games. At least we've given ourselves a chance though.

It certainly doesn't give holding the right to a free yellow card, but I don't think what he did to Son is a yellow card and thereby a sending off, because those fouls happen everywhere all the time. If you want to use those rules, fine, but by extension we should be getting 2 or 3 players sent off every game, which of course doesn't happen.

Haven't even commented on the pen because with Tierney and the refs this season, incompetence is the MO.

I would have preferred if Arsenal had won to give Chelsea the assurance of finishing in the top 4.

Last two matches should be easy wins. Just go out and earn it.

Hey, signing Rashford would show the Saudis are committed to invest in dealing with inequalities in the Newcastle area.

There's no inequality in Newcastle, everyone's fucking poor.

You can pay me, of course. I'll send an invoice.

Then I'll make an oven-ready deal with the Everton players. Will work just fine. I promise.

Geordie twitter is quite entertaining this morning. Seems that plenty of Toon fans are perfectly happy taking the blood money, but are upset that this means they will have to wear the Saudi national kit on away games.

The silliest part of the whole thing is that this will somehow rake the club in a load of money from shirt sales.

Apart from the fact that most shirt deals see clubs making very little money from actual sales, how many people in Saudi Arabia will actually give a toss? If they have a patriotic football itch to scratch, surely it makes more sense to buy a national team kit.
