You might be on to something there. The pandemic didn’t exactly do wonders for my faith in humanity. Watching this film I kept thinking “fall of the Roman Empire”. Ironically much better than him grunting and eating raw liver in The Revenant with that comical accent.I really liked his performance in Once upon a time in Hollywood as well, again much better than Revenant.Tom Hardy should’ve won the Oscar for that one. polishgenius
I know its not going to be anywhere near most people's lists but I always go back to Toni Servillo's performance in La Grande Belezza, because in his first scene all he does is turn around, wave, dance briefly and light a cigarette, and from that (in combination with the direction to be fair) I made several surmises about the character every single one of which proved to be true by the end of the film. Nictarion
Rewatching Bone Tomahawk, and I really wish we’d get some more horror-westerns. Such a unique sub genre. Off the top of my head I think I’ve only seen this, The Burrowers, and Ravenous. Also want more movies from S. Craig Zahler in general. He’s 3 for 3 for me. Iskaral Pust
Greyhound was a good movie about the Battle of the Atlantic. I’m watching Gangs Of London — pretty good so far for a genre show, albeit very violent. My wife and I watched S1 of After Party — this is what Glass Onion wanted to be. Good humor. That's not even the best acting performance of that year in my opinion. Mads Mikkelsen in Jagten would earn that distinction. Such a devastating performance in an utterly devastating film. Ran
Winning Time ended its second -- and now final, alas -- season with a run through the 1984 NBA Finals, one of the greatest (the greatest, to some) NBA finals in the history of basketball. They knew they were getting cancelled, given the last montage indicating where things went with Magic Johnson, Kareem, Jerry West, Pat Riley, Jerry Buss, etc., but it's a shame they didn't get a third season. It just didn't find enough viewers, being an expensive show, and it was illuminating to see a thread on Reddit discussing the news with a bunch of people chiming that they never even considered watching it because they hate the Lakers because of <insert sports rival fandom here>. Which is insane to me, honestly -- we're talking about 40 years ago, surely that's enough time to just acknowledge that some team other than your favorite team was actually good to watch? And What We Do In the Shadows wrapped up its latest season, all very good fun including an amusing cameo by Patton Oswalt as himself (with a nod to the earlier, also funny, appearance of John Slattery). Benedict Wong cameos as well, and Haley Joel Osmont made a return. Good stuff.

I was waiting to binge it. The first season was really good and unlike a lot of sports shows/movies they did a great job making the games look realistic. Bummer that it didn't get picked up for more seasons, but it was also crazy to think their original plan of doing a season about each year of the Showtime Lakers would work. BigFatCoward
Just watching final episode now, didnt realise it was cancelled. I don't know how long they could have sustained the story realistically. I would have like to see how they portrayed the scumbag pistons though. Give Thomas something else to whine about.
