Consigliere
Rhaenyra's third son was named after Joffrey Lonmouth ;) Laenor chose the name Forgot about that, thanks. :) Still, can we say Joffrey is a Stormlands name when we have only the one example? Bob Sacamano
Hey, so I was listening to ASOS on my way to work this morning and heard something that got my attention. I could be making something out of nothing, but: It was Bran's chapter when he and company are in the Nightfort. When Sam was coming up the well, Bran wants to slip his skin and warg into Summer. But Bran thinks something to the effect of "He could be miles away." Shouldn't Bran have a pretty good idea of where Summer is? Bran's reasoning for not warging Summer was that he didn't want to leave his friends alone to face whatever was coming up the well. That all well and good, but earlier in the chapter Bran wargs Summer while they are both inside The Nightfort, and I think it was "only for a second, so Summer could smell the place." So couldn't Bran have warged Summer to see where he is and if he is too far away, just go back to his skin? I guess a larger question is: Could The Nightfort have a "magical" barrier like the Wall does?
Rhaenys_Targaryen
Forgot about that, thanks. :) Still, can we say Joffrey is a Stormlands name when we have only the one example? With only one example, it might be a bit too early.Perhaps Cersei named Joffrey? We've got Jason's and a Jaime amongst the Lannisters, Joffrey seems to fit in that group a little bit..

Rhaenys_Targaryen
Is the colour of Meera's eyes mentioned in the books? Wiki says green and cites the Clash but I can't find anything there. Wait, I saw that discussion, and I had meant to do a search.. Here ya go, from Storm, Chapter 9: Meera Reed was sixteen, a woman grown, but she stood no higher than her brother. All the crannogmen were small, she told Bran once when he asked why she wasn’t taller. Brown-haired, green-eyed, and flat as a boy, she walked with a supple grace that Bran could only watch and envy. Meera wore a long sharp dagger, but her favorite way to fight was with a slender three-pronged frog spear in one hand and a woven net in the other. I remember reading Braavosi voting their new Sealord in Hall of Truth but not sure if it counts as a democracy or there is something I miss? Hmm, Rome, Germany, Italy had voted for kings and emperors for centuries. There were only 7-9 voters though, so if that was no democracy to speak of. Who has a vote for the Sealord of Braavos? edited to note this is my 1000st post. How time goes by.
Lord_of_Japes
Does the Queen of Westeros ever sit on the small council? I would think it depends on the King. I know Cersei never sat on the council but I'm sure she influenced some of Robert's decisions, like to send Robert Arryn to Casterly Rock instead of Dragonstone, etc. Does the Queen make important decisions or help govern, or is Queen just more of an honor/power title I wonder? The King gets to decide who sits on his council. Queen Alysanne, for example, was the most trusted counciler of King Jaehaerys II. It would not be strange if Alysanne had indeed sat on Jaehaerys' small council. The amount of power a Queen has depends on 1) her king, 2) her family, 3) her supporters One clarification: Robert's fostering situation is confusing, but it went as followed: Upon discovering the secret of Cersei and Jaime and their children, Jon Arryn prepares to expose her by arranging to send Robert Arryn to Dragonstone to be fostered by Stannis Baratheon, who Jon Arryn trusted. Walder Frey, during the Tourney for Joffrey's 12th nameday, asked Jon Arryn for Robert to be fostered at the Twins. Jon Arryn responds with announcing Roberts fostering at Dragonstone, which caused Lysa to storm off. With the help of LF (possibly and most likely LF encouraged Lysa), Lysa poisoned Jon Arryn, thereby preventing that he could send Robert away. Cersei, joyed because Jon Arryns death was so timely, figured that Jon might have told something to Lysa, and wanted to arrange Roberts fostering with Tywin Lannister so the Lannisters would hold Robert as a hostage. Robert Baratheon agreed and Tywin agreed, and Lysa was informed by the court. In response, Lysa fled to the Eyrie.
